Advent

So here it is, the beginning of Advent. For many of us that comes with calendars starting to be opened, decorations being put up, school nativities and fairs. Each of us have our own traditions and they will be special to ourselves and our families. As a church community we do all of these things - personally I love the season of Advent and all that comes with it.

As we move into the season of Advent, the church has a focus on what has happened - when Jesus was born as a human child some 2000 years ago. We believe that this marks a pivotal moment in human history, as thorough him we learn more about God, can be forgiven for the bad choices we have made, and can live a life that is focused on loving God and loving other people.

But we also look forward to another day, when Jesus will come back to earth and reconcile all people and things to himself. We believe that there is a better future in store.

If you'd like to find out more about what we believe as a church then do come along to one of our weekly services on Sundays at 10am - or one of our special services this month such as Messy Christingle on Friday 8th December or our Candlelit Carol Service on Wednesday 13th December at 7:30pm.

And, of course, have a wonderful Advent and Christmas.
