What is #BedminsterStreetAdvent?
#BedminsterStreetAdvent is a chance for local streets to add some sparkle to this Covid Christmas, by transforming their front windows into living Advent calendars. It’s a community event coordinated by two local churches, St Aldhelms, Chessel St, and St Pauls, Coronation Road.
How does it work?
First, residents on participating streets each choose a date from 1-24 December, when they’ll put up their window displays. (You can pick more than one date per house if a street doesn't have 24 households able to take part.) Then, every day in Advent, front windows are decorated with a Christmas theme – it can be anything, so long as it’s festive, and includes the relevant date. Window displays stay up until 25 December. By Christmas Day, participating streets will have a complete living Advent calendar.
Hopefully Bedminster streets will be full of living Advent calendars for residents to enjoy this December. We’re asking people to use #BedminsterStreetAdvent to share photos of their windows.
There’s no need for streets to register, but we would love to hear how you get on and share some of your images. Tag us in on Twitter @BrisStAldhelms or by using the hashtag #BedminsterStreetAdvent and we will share the Christmas joy with others! There will also be updates on our Facebook page.
